Youth accounts for over 60% of the population across our markets, it is for this reason that we have shifted our key strategic focus of our Corporate Social Investment (CSI) towards youth empowerment. Our approach to CSI is to systematically address job creation, enhance competitiveness and drive inclusive growth.

We do so while ensuring that we maintain an emphasis on addressing National priority areas aligned with the National Development Plan of each of our markets.

We believe that our vision to build sustainable societies can believe achieved through partnership and collaboration, helping in the realisation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Youth empowerment

As one of the largest digital providers on the continent our footprint in youthful markets is far greater than any other provider globally. Digital solutions are essential to addressing the challenges of youth empowerment, digital skills development, and job creation. Our youth empowerment focused on scholarships, capacity building, the promotion of ICT skills and access to digital content, as well as entrepreneurship

National priority areas

Our approach to CSI is to systematically address job creation, enhance competitiveness and drive inclusive growth. We do so while ensuring that we maintain an emphasis on addressing National priority areas aligned with the National Development Plan of each of our markets. Our approach is underpinned primarily by UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Women empowerment

To guarantee that everyone deserves the benefit of a modern connected life, we ensure that men and women benefit equally from ICT. This assists in reducing inequalities which exist in society. We actively strive to ensure that girls and women have the necessary skills and knowledge to understand, develop content, participate in and benefit fully from ICTs and their applications

VIVA Care

Our 21 Days of VIVA  Care employee volunteering programme gives VIVAers the opportunity to contribute to the communities in which we operate. This gives staff the opportunity to volunteer their time, skills and personal resources to create a positive impact on society.
